my hesitant knock—

the path to her door

drifted with blossoms Michael

overhead a cloud

of pink magnolias Alegria

skin cream flecked

with calendula petals—

one more season of sun Vicki

collected rain

tipping the orchid Michael

on her windowsill

the blooming wisteria

casts a shadow Alegria

honeysuckle

scents the moonlight Vicki
